The Importance of Good Health

importance of good health

The importance of good health cannot be overstated. It has a direct effect on every aspect of your life. It affects your family life, your personal life, your sleep, stress levels, your ability to perform tasks, and maybe most important your attitude. Frankly, I am always amazed that people are not more conscious of their personal health.

It's good to enjoy life and depriving yourself of the "goodies" that life has to offer is boring. If you want to start a super strict diet and exercise program, great, but you don't need to. It is important to take steps to lead a healthier lifestyle because life will become more enjoyable.

Good health is achieved through proper diet, exercise, and sleep. None of these are difficult to accomplish. Recognize the importance of good health and take steps to act because if you do you can:

Live Longer- Although this is no guarantee, the evidence is overwhelming that this will likely occur if you are in good health. Please click healthy living tips for more information.

Better attitude - Chemically, when you are in good health, your body will release more endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine. These are positive brain chemicals (mood enhancers) released in the blood and sent to your brain. This will improve your motivation and attitude. One of the best ways to release positive brain chemicals is by learning positive affirmations.

Reduces risk of disease - When someone goes through a major disease it is one of the most memorable experiences they have. Why? Mainly because of how unpleasant the experience was. Good health will boost your immune system and in turn reduce your risk of a potentially unpleasant or life threatening disease or illness.

More energy and stamina – Did you ever have those days that you felt unbelievable? Your energy was through the roof! You could accomplish anything. Having more energy and stamina will cause you to perform better in many aspects of your life.

Reduces Stress - It’s no secret that both work and home lives can at times be stressful. Not many people realize how damaging stress can be on a person’s physical health. For example, if you are a traveler, living a healthier lifestyle on the road can reduce stress by relaxing tense muscles and helping a person sleep better.

Stronger Bones - This is essential, particularly later in life, in performing daily tasks and activities without any problems. It’s important to take steps to reduce the risk of osteoporosis and other bone diseases.

Cognitive Performance - Regular activity and exercise is important for your brain because it releases your mood enhancers (as stated above) and keeps your mind engaged. This becomes more important as you age.

Sleep Better - Unfortunately, poor sleep is something that is missing for many people. It's a simple equation, the healthier you are the better you sleep, and the better you sleep the happier, more energetic, and productive you become.

Healthy Vision - Problems with eyesight are one of the first signs of inadequate nutrition and physical activity. Fortunately, the opposite also is true. Good nutrition combined with physical activity can help you to achieve lifelong healthy vision.

You can start anywhere to improve your health, but just start. And please don't underestimate the importance of good health and what changes it will bring to your life.
