Fitness Motivation: How to Stay Motivated?

This is an important question. How do we maintain our diet and fitness motivation? If you have trouble staying motivated, you are not alone. It is a challenge we all face. It’s very easy to lose interest and fall back on old habits. If you are caught in this trap, read on to find out what you can do.

Add variety – Don’t just do the same workout every time, like using the treadmill for 30 minutes or eating the same foods each day. Keep your mind open. Part of the purpose of this website is to show you the variety you can add within your workouts and diet.

Tell everyone – If you’ve decided to start a diet and exercise program tell everyone and anyone you see. This will serve as a reminder of what you are doing and add pressure to succeed.

Purchase the equipment – Buy a resistance tube, dumbbells, a jump rope, hand & ankle weights, a fitness ball, or anything else you want to use in your workouts. This will do two things: First, because you’ve invested some money you will want to use the product. Two, when you see the product sitting around it will serve as reminder to exercise.

Create goals – Decide how much weight you want to lose, how much body fat you want to have, how many miles you want to be able to run, how much you want to bench press, or some other goal and write it down. Putting it on paper makes you that much more committed to achieving your goal.

Plan your workouts – When you plan your workouts you are developing a routine for yourself. A lack of routine can be detrimental to health and fitness habits. Having a clearly defined exercise and diet plan will increase your motivation.

Record your progress – This will let you know exactly where you stand at any moment and assuming you’ve created goals you know how close you are to those goals. It’s very motivating to see how far you’ve come.

Find diet and work out routines that aren’t too strict – If you want to be strict, I say “great!” However, it’s okay not to deprive yourself completely of opportunities that present themselves. Deprivation may add stress. Just counter balance things that may not be considered unhealthy with healthy activities, like exercising or eating fruits and vegetables at some point every day.

Think about why you want to exercise, eat healthy, and live well and then write it down – This is your purpose for living healthy. After you write it down, put it where it is constantly visible, such as the refrigerator or the wallpaper of the computer. Use this as motivation so you don’t make excuses.

Incorporating even one of these tips will be a major improvement. Find whatever you need for health and physical fitness motivation and do it. There is no time like the present!
