Bodyweight Exercises

Bodyweight exercises are one of the most valuable and convenient exercises you can do. You can become as fit and as strong as a professional athlete without having to leave your house. The money savings in gym memberships and gas is worth knowing these alone. However, if your primary goal is to improve your strength and endurance, these are great home exercises that can be performed their or anywhere.

They are a natural way to work both your large and small muscle groups. For example, notice how lean and fit boxers and kick boxers are. The majority of them don’t use any weight equipment during training. Much of their strength is derived through exercises using their bodyweight. My training in Muay Thai kickboxing taught me first hand how effective these exercises are. Think of the stereotype surrounding prisoners and their strength. They are able to build this strength primarily through exercises using their bodyweight.

It's important to know that these exercises are highly effective and they are suited for anyone, but particularly if you are someone on a budget or don’t have access to a gym, like a business traveler. These exercises will cover all the major muscle groups. If you are new to these you will quickly find they are not as easy as you might think and that’s a good thing.

If you think the only way to get an unbelievable workout, is to go to the gym, think again!
